All nominees were announced Thursday for the 22nd annual American Music Awards, which will air live Nov. 18 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
Ariana Grande is up for three awards, including female artist of the year, two days after releasing a six-song album, “Sweetener.” Her recent single, “God Is a Woman,” featuring Nicki Minaj, leads the 2019 race for top hip-hop artist.
The Chainsmokers and Florida Georgia Line lead with five nominations each, including artist of the year. SZA and Camila Cabello have four nominations each.
Jay-Z’s “4:44” is up for album of the year, and Camila Cabello’s “Camila” is up for pop/rock album. Migos’ “Culture II” will compete for rap album, while Kelsea Ballerini’s “Unapologetically” and Cardi B’s “Invasion of Privacy” are up for soul/R&B album.
Colin Jost and Michael Che of “Saturday Night Live” will host the AMAs.
