Mo Salah left Chelsea as one of the division’s rising talents but said that he had become a fan of 19-year-old Liverpool prodigy Kaide Gordon.
Gordon, who took part in a different charity match in front of the scouts during the World Cup in Egypt, thanked them for taking an interest in him and said that he was ready to step into the limelight now.
“I’m ready for it, I’m ready for it! Let’s go,” said Gordon. “Let’s show them [the scouts] how good we are. I’m ready. If that’s what they want and they put a team together that wants to fight to win the title then we’ll do our best to win it.”
Liverpool are reportedly after Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk and Gordon’s mind is on taking some of the responsibility of being Salah’s replacement at Anfield.
Salah ended his time at Chelsea by scoring 25 goals in the 2017-18 season and taking Liverpool to the Champions League final.
Gordon, from Liverpool’s Tomlinson Road, has an 86 percent pass accuracy rate and a goal threat rate of 16.6 percent.
